THE ISSUE

Victims are being misadvised by police and barristers that they should not attend their abuser's trial after giving evidence.

Victims are being told not to attend their abuser’s sentencing hearing. They are not routinely offered a video link to watch the trial remotely.

Victims are charged hundreds or even thousands for transcripts if they want to know the details of court proceedings.

THE IMPACT

Victims can’t move on, they can’t complain they can’t understand what has happened.

I didn’t feel safe to leave my house... I still couldn’t work, I couldn’t move on.

There are five weeks of material that debate me…my body, my words, my experience, and I cannot access them.

Three stories of thousands.

Just three of the thousands of lives destroyed.

Destroyed not just by the crime they survived but by the criminal justice system itself.
